An interview with the director, Reg Traviss, July 18th

I’m working on a film called Screwed. It’s a prison thriller and really interesting because it’s from the perspective of the prison officer. It’s based on a young prison officer who has left the army and had a bad experience in Iraq. When he comes onto ‘Civvy Street’ he doesn’t know which way to go so it’s a bit of an identity crisis in many respects. He could go either way, but gets a job in uniform again and arrives in this prison system that is rife with corruption and it’s about his journey through it. I agreed to do it because it seemed original and we’re in pre-production now and shoot it at the end of the summer up north in a disused prison.

Have you cast it yet?

Yeah, we’re casting but I can’t say who is going to take the lead because he’s not contracted yet. I understand it’ll happen very soon. But there’s others cast like Frank Harper and Ricci Harnett who plays Peck in Psychosis. I’m really looking forward to it.

aaahhhh... so James will be a prison warden?

http://www.ronniethompson.co.uk/

This is certainly vastly different from all his previous roles!!!   Shocked    Wow!

But then, James is so brilliant at surprising us and keeping us on our toes.

Ronnie tweeted about a character called Sam Norwood.  Oh boy, I think we'll have to read his book to find out.

James will play lead in Screwed, a feature film based on Ronnie Thomson's book about life in a British prison!

SCREWED the feature film, is coming on f*****g great. We are financed, have a team in place and will be casting very soon. We have a couple of tweaks to do on the script first, then BOOM! Pre-production does take some time, though. Locations, schedules, cast, crew etc etc. But if things go well, we should be shooting in no time at all, which is very, very exciting and is sure fire to be a big hit.

Ronnie Thomson twitted yesterday that James is a lead.

Edward was short and James is rather tall  Smiley They casted him to play Edward despite his height, so maybe they really made him to wear blue lenses to make him look more like the prince did?
James doesn't look like Edward at all, blue lenses or not, being much much more handsome. But Andrea resembles Wallis very much.

I'm sure they'll make James wear blue contact lenses.

Edward was said to have bright blue eyes and blonde hair.  Unfortunately, there's not a lot of coloured photos of him when he was younger...  only a few when he was older when his eyes no longer shone as brightly.

His home outside Paris.
